I’ve been to 5 car events in the last month heavily featuring Porsches and my friends are kinda sick of seeing it all. Is it annoying to you all?
If not, see below haha but next weekend is autocross so I promise a better variety! Anyway here’s a cars and coffee dump.
There were about 40 of us!

I don’t think anyone can ever get sick of looking at beautiful cars.

Porsche became the modestly wealthy man’s Ferrari about 15 years ago. Once the German Corvette, now the status symbol of those that ‘know good cars’ and won’t hesitate to tell you to stand back as not to bump to scratch the paint. Porsche represents a segment of some good people but others riding a fair weather wave of appreciation and moniker.

Yes, too much Porsche right now. Like on Bring a Trailer, it seriously feels like every other car listed is a Porsche.

Oh sweet does that mean I’m modestly wealthy now? (Don’t look at my bank account)

Depends on the car.
911 - Modestly wealthy (or extreme debt)
Boxster - Faking it
Cayman - Telling a big fib
944 - On a downslide
928 - Doesn’t know they’re rich
924 - Confused how money works
959 - Wealthy
Panamera - Hood rich
And finally Cayenne - Stole their wealth

According to last Porsche owner’s manual I read Porsche is committed to the environment not only by how they build their cars but that 70% of Porsches ever made are still on the road, which they feel is an even bigger achievement.
I remember it because I liked the snark in how it was written. I didn’t do it justice.
Anyway, explains the large number of Porsches, and also explains the relative lack of Audis from similar years.

Haha awesome, guess I’m telling a big fib. If it helps though I was cross shopping a C7 and an M2 and found my Cayman S to be the most dynamic driving of anything I’ve tried. It’s all about the corners, a fun commute, and autocross. The badge just happens to be “expensive”.

It is a great car. I’m jealous you’ve got one. Definitely an achievement in life to own any big name sports car.
Don’t get me started on the anyone that owns a new ‘Vette or a BMW M anything owner. I mean at least with a Ferrari or Viper owner we know they’re pretentious. We assume they’re all assholes with too much money. Some are - some surprise you - some just do it to prove us wrong.

Btw: That list I made up off the top of my head. No hard feelings. Just for fun.

No worries, that’s why I laughed first! I agree on a lot of points, and having been to enough Porsche events I’m a bit of an anomaly as a 27 year old with tattoos and no house/wife/kids. We’re all friends on oppo :)

You bring the bell curve of the average participants age down by about 30 years. I have the same problem at classic car shows. Blue hairs everywhere. They always ask me questions about my “dads” Camaro. I reply by asking if they keep their DNR in the glove box.

I am fairly accurate. Now if I could just practice good trigger control.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles
